Pinot Gris

A mutation of pinot noir that is grown in Alsace and in Italy as Pinot Grigio. It is fragrant and a nice match with foods. The variety is fairly vigorous and we have to ensure that it has enough crop to slow the vine’s growth but not too much so that crop won’t ripen.
This balancing act is necessary for pinot gris to make it through the winter without too much bud loss.
The 2006 vintage will be our first.
