We were told in 1979 that we were crazy to plant gewürztraminer and we were and that pathology has not subsided; we planted more in 2003. But it is grape that we adore. A beautiful and tasty grape in the vineyard, Gewurztraminer makes spicy, perfumed, full-bodied white wines. It is a variety that is extremely winter tender so we bury canes to ensure that we have a crop after a bitter winter. Winter is far more bitter without gewurtz to drink!
